Mission, values & history
Our mission
BLC Media exists to help people and organizations doing meaningful work earn the attention they deserve through consistent, authentic media and real human connection.
Our values
Never manufacture importance. Find what is genuinely valuable and help the world see it.
Consistency compounds
Great media is rarely one viral moment. We show up, publish, improve, and keep going.
Trust before attention
Reach matters, but reputation matters more. We never sacrifice credibility for clicks.
Do the work
We value execution over talking about execution. Good ideas only matter when they become something real.
Relationships are the strategy
Media is ultimately about people. We invest in genuine relationships with clients, audiences, partners, and the communities around us.
Make every piece matter
We don't create content just to fill a calendar. Every piece should educate, inform, entertain, inspire, or move someone toward action.
Grow together
When BLC Media succeeds, our team and our clients should become stronger with it. We share responsibility, develop people, and take pride in what we build together.
Our history
From a community space to a media organization
BLC Media did not begin with a media strategy. It grew from years of community work and one simple idea: create a trusted physical place where people can meet, learn, and exchange ideas, and eventually the community begins creating something of its own.
Long before we had a production team or media programs, our work was centered on people. Through The Kostro Foundation, we supported villages and children's homes across northern Thailand: scholarships, English teachers, bathrooms and kitchens, water wells, and internet connectivity. At one children's home we built a dining hall serving around 100 people and installed a 10-kilowatt solar system for reliable refrigeration and food storage.
Those years taught us to listen before speaking, that every community is different, and that trust is built through consistent action over long periods of time.
The learning center
The next major step was a permanent educational center in Chiang Mai. Instead of relying on online education and occasional events, we wanted people to have somewhere real they could visit. The doors stayed open.
Students, professors, developers, entrepreneurs, educators, international travelers, families, government representatives, and the simply curious all came. Today more than 1,000 people from over 50 countries walk through our doors unannounced each year, and thousands more join scheduled workshops, university programs, conferences, and meetups. Those conversations became the foundation of BLC Media.
Education becomes media
The knowledge and conversations inside the Learning Center should not have stayed within four walls, so we began producing content. What started simply grew into an in-house media operation with our own production team, editors, presenters, educators, equipment, studios, and daily and weekly programming.
People learn differently, so rather than build one program for one audience, the community began creating its own. BLC Media now runs six Thai-language verticals: BitHealth, led by a doctor working alongside a fitness professional and scientist on health, performance, and long-term thinking; Queen B, creating conversations designed to empower women; BLC Library, turning books into accessible recorded reviews and discussions; technical media for developers and more advanced audiences; weekly news that makes important developments manageable; and a long-form interview program bringing together leading thinkers, educators, and builders from across Thailand.
Each program has its own personality. Together, they form BLC Media.
Built locally
This media organization was not imported from somewhere else. It developed in Thailand, where local presenters decide how ideas should be communicated, local editors shape the stories, and local educators understand the questions their audiences are actually asking.
Our international work follows the same philosophy. A dedicated international representative who speaks the local language spends time with visitors from around the world, understanding their interests and connecting them with the right people and resources. There is no one-size-fits-all model for education or media.
From hundreds of people to millions
The physical Learning Center remains at the heart of what we do, but media removed the geographic limits of the building. A conversation that once reached twenty people in a room could reach thousands, and an educator who once taught a classroom could speak to an entire country. Today our hub, programs, events, and media together allow a relatively small team to reach millions of people each year.
The relationship works in both directions. People discover us through media and eventually walk through our doors. Visitors become participants, participants become contributors, and contributors become presenters, educators, and community leaders whose ideas travel back out through BLC Media. The physical community creates the media, and the media continually grows the community.
Growing through trust
Our development has never been based on one viral moment. It has been thousands of small ones: a student asking a question, a professor inviting us into a classroom, a government representative visiting the center, a traveler walking through the doors unexpectedly, someone watching a program and deciding to visit in person, a team member discovering they have something valuable to teach.
That consistency compounds. Today a seven-person team produces, edits, and develops programs in-house, with capabilities normally associated with a much larger organization, and most importantly, we keep developing new local educators, creators, and voices.
The next generation
Our long-term goal is not to build BLC Media around any one founder, presenter, or personality. It is to build an institution: viewers who become contributors, contributors who become presenters, presenters who become educators and leaders, and today's team training tomorrow's, so the culture and knowledge developed here in Chiang Mai continue long after the people who started it are gone.
The technology, the platforms, the programs, and the people will all change. Some things should remain remarkably simple. Be kind. Be approachable. Listen. Treat every visitor like they matter. Make complicated ideas understandable. Give people a place to be heard. Create opportunities for others to find their voice. And show up again tomorrow.
That is how BLC Media was built, and that is how we intend to keep building it.
Looking forward
As we continue to grow, our focus remains on the future. We are actively pursuing new partnerships and grant opportunities to expand and continue our work and make an even greater impact in the communities we serve. By empowering individuals through Bitcoin education and providing sustainable economic solutions, we aim to create a world where financial inclusion is a reality for everyone.
We invite you to join us in this mission and be a part of creating lasting change.
